My budget for the new computer is: Between $1,000 and $1,500.

What are the primary uses for this computer (IE: mail, web browsing, programming, games, etc)? I am looking to use this computer for a mixture of gaming, internet browsing, and word processing for college.

What software do you intend on using on the computer? I intend to use software like Firefox, iTunes, Microsoft Word, and GIMP. I'll list the games I'd like to use it for below.

Do you play games? If so, what type of games? I would like to be able to play Diablo 3, The Sims 3 with expansion packs, The Sims Medieval with expansions, Star Wars: The Old Republic, Runescape, and Shaiya Online. I'd like to be able to play these games on the highest graphics setting without a huge amount of lag; I'm fine with a short wait on a loading screen, and I understand that no computer is perfect, but the less lag and wait-time, the better.

Do you tend to have a lot of programs running at the same time, or do you close every program when you are done using it? I'm pretty good about closing programs when I am finished with them. Eventually I would like to be able to have two screens running at once, making it so that I could browse the web and play a game at the same time without having to minimize windows.

Do you store a lot of pictures or music on the computer? As of right now, I do not store many pictures on my computer itself, but on photo-uploading sites like Photobucket. I do have iTunes, but right now I have under 1,000 songs.

Any kind of suggestions or advice would be helpful, like the type of monitor that would be best for such a system (I was thinking about purchasing a small HD flatscreen television so that I could also use the same screen for my XBox when I wasn't on the computer) and which keyboard and mouse type you would recommend. I'm all ears! Any advice is better than what I am going on right now; I'm not all that tech-savvy, so an explanation for your choices would be nice, but isn't completely necessary.

Monitor: Asus VE248H- $180 - This monitor has an HDMI output which could be used on your Xbox, and there is also built in speakers with the monitor, so you don't need to buy speakers. It has a quick response time of 2ms rather then 5ms which most monitor has.

Desktop: CyberpowerPC Gamer Xtreme 1346 - $1300 - This system has the fastest CPU you can get for the LGA1155 platform, it has plenty of ram and you will probably never upgrade the ram as it is 16GB of it and the graphics card is a high end model, so it should easily run your games at highest graphics settings. Also this desktop includes a keyboard and mouse for you.

Wow; thank you so much! This looks like a really nice system, perfect for what I had in mind. I also appreciate the effort you went through to find a monitor for me; words are insufficient in describing my gratitude!

Does this have the preloaded trials and junk on it? I would really rather that I could just skip that or have them not put it on at all :C

I don't think there is preloaded junk on custom built desktops.
