I want to get a cable to go from my laptop to tv.I want to run karaoke, I was told i need a converter to get the right signal to my tv.I was informed that there are cables that don't need a converter and are only a fraction of the cost.As anyone tried these cables please. thanks.

You would need to give more details. Make and model of the TV and of the Laptop.
That way the laptop outputs can be looked up and the TV inputs can be looked up and a recommendation that should work can be made.

Keep in mind you may also need a audio cable too. Depends on what you have.
