Computer Not Working

hi everyone

i need some help with my laptop, when i press the on button the power light goes on but nothing seems to load, the screen stays blank and the hard drive light stays off

anyone got any ideas as to whats wrong

Have you tried to boot from the CD or floppy?

yea it just reads the disc for a bit then stops again, with nothing showing up on screen

the fan comes on but thats the only thing it seems to do

It could be a power supply problem. Low PS output. Is your PS external? Is the power supply on the power cord or built in?
