how much does every one (on average, best guess) spend on each purchase/build?

I usually only buy 2 items and averages about $200 (hardware plus wires, etc)

If I built an entire system, I usually spend about $1200 worth of hardware.

you?

That is relative to what kind of system you use. I, for instance, have only spent $50 for the used computers I use. We only lite game, surf the internet, and do school\work on them. They serve us well.
I have seen members spend $2000+ on gaming machines.
The most expensive new computer I have built was 1 ago for a friend. It totaled $1500.
This is a very good question you pose through. You should make a multi-question pole asking that topic. have several catogries

Basic- Internet, Word Processing, still pictures.

Midlevel- Light gaming, Basic video editting.

Extreme- High end gaming, Streaming video.

It would be a good measuse for the people interested in the subject.

I haven't bought a whole system since PII, and the only thing left of that thing is the floppy drive. The upgrades have cost from 20 to 2700.
