dvd drive

hello im using alivenf7g-full hd board cpu is amd athlon 64 x2 5600+ 6 gig ram ati radeon hd 3400 series vid card western digital 1tb hd sata drive the problem im having is my bios will not detect my dvd drive i have updated bios changed cables and changed dvd drives same thing wont detect my ide drive

Enable IDE mode or get a SATA optical drive instead if the problem persist.

i checked in bios the ide is enabled

Hi, since you say the IDE port is enabled the choices are:

1. bad cable.
2. bad drive.
3. jumpers set wrong.

Try another cable first since you said you changed the DVD drive. 80 wire 40 pin IDE cable.
Make sure the drive is set to cable select or Master and the blue plug is in the motherboard and the other end where the two connectors are closer together, that the far end of the cable is plugged into the drive.

When you push the button on the front of the drive does it open or close?
