Like so many other people I've seen on these boards and elsewhere, I caught the Google redirect trojan at some point and was very frustrated with the removal process. The problems that I encountered drove me to post here for the first time.

I first noticed the problem when McAfee SiteAdvisor caught the redirect to a malicious website and prevented IE from navigating there. At first I thougt that it was a simple IE problem until it showed up in Chrome and Firefox. I immediately checked Symantec Endpoint Protection's scans and log but found nothing there. I immediately ran Rkill and Malwarebyte's AntiMalware without any other results. I also ran TDSSKiller which found nothing. Norton PowerEraser failed to find anything. As always, Windows Defender proved useless.

Eventually, ESET Online Scanner found 6 infected files on my computer:
Win32/BHO.OEI trojan
JS/Redirector.NIQ trojan
"multiple threats"
Java/Exploit.CVE-2011-3544.F trojan
a variant of Win32/Medfos.AR trojan
JS/Redirector.NBX trojan

These were all deleted and the redirects seemed to go away. However, the very next day I began to observe the activity again. ESET found another trojan which was promptly removed, but the redirects kept occouring. It was about then that I switched over to Bing.

Since then, I've noticed some strange things which I feel might be related but I honestly don't have the experience to confirm:
-Adobe Flash plugin crashes regularly on all browsers.
-Task Manager shows all processes as using 00 CPU, which, last time I checked, is impossible.
-All web browsers seem to be running multiple processes (up to 7) even if only one window is open.
-Performance in general seems to be slowed.

I'm trying to stay on top of what's happening to my machine and keep scanning. The redirects are intermittant, which is strange because I haven't found and removed any malware since. Usually, I've able to put out the fires very quickly when it comes to viruses and malware and this is the first time I've ever encountered something like this.

My questions are twofold:
1. Is there anything more I can do in terms of scanning to make sure that this thing isn't embedded in my system still?
2. What can I do to ensure that my browsing (which I try to protect with SiteAdvisor as well as content filters) won't lead to more problems in the future?

Any help would be very much appreciated.
Thanks,
-Bridger

I still need aswMBR log.

Also your FSS log says:

Ran by wildcat (ATTENTION: The logged in user is not administrator) on 24-07-2012 at 18:42:27
Running from "C:\Users\wildcat\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\DWCMNS2E"

I want you to re-run it from administrator account and not from some temporary folder.

I don't see anything malicious there.

Which browser is getting redirected?

IE had given me the most problems. I'm pretty sure I got two redirects this afternoon (and ran a scan afterwards which again found nothing.) I'd really like to think that it's gone, that's for sure...
