So when Cox set up my internet here they gave me a Cisco DPQ3212 modem. Now they are saying six months later that they gave me the wrong model and have sent this Motorola SB6180 in the mail to replace it with. Is one of these actually better than the other or will there be any difference? I tried looking up specs but I could only find a downstream and upstream one for the Motorola and couldn't even get that information for the Cisco one...or find any reviews, so can anyone help me out here? I'd appreciate it!

The Cisco DPQ3212 has a battery back up other than that I don't think they are much different.

My cable company gave me the Cisco DPQ3212, no battery since I don't do VOIP (Internet Phone) from them. That is what they upgraded me to when I went to the 101Mbps service.

Maybe the difference is if you have internet phone or not?

This might be a good resource for you

Hope this helps
