I have a Sony Viao laptop that has performed ok in it's 18 months of life so far. In the past few months though the it's been prone to crashes when running on the battery, there will be no prompting of low battery and no hibernation, the system just straight crashes.

To make matters more annoying after restarting, IE9 has forgotten all of my login information so I have to re-enter. I think this is maybe a seperate issue, but I'm not sure how to fix either.

I did just replace the battery and also changed the settings in the power management so that it goes into hibernation at 7% left rather than 0%, but it's still doing it. It's happened both while we've been using the laptop and while it's been sitting by itself. I don't know whether this is a battery calibration type issue or quite what else to try.
