Hi,

My daughter and I both had the free version of avast! Antivirus on our computers. Before she installed it on hers, however, she had AVG. She got a virus when prompted to install update for Adobe Flash Player. She couldn't get rid of it. It got past her firewall and into her security center. She had to do a system restore. Twice.

So she uninstalled AVG and installed avast! and registered it with her name and info. Then I decided to go ahead and upgrade to avast! Internet security and purchased it for 3 computers. But I don't know how to get it to include her computer. I didn't see anything answering that question on the avast! FAQ.

Will she need to uninstall it and reinstall it?

Thanks in advance for your help.

What is the exact product name of her Avast product? If it isn't exactly the same as what you have. She will need to uninstall hers and install the one you have available for her.

Hi -
Please make sure you select the version of your systems (32bit or 64bit) and then run the AVG removal tool listed below >>
http://www.avg.com/us-en/utilities
How to determine whether a computer is running a 32-bit version or 64-bit version of the Windows operating system
This is required to fully remove AVG from the computer -

Thank You -
EDIT - 32 / 64bit Link Added -

My daughter said she would probably uninstall and reinstall avast! this weekend. She will be going out of town for a few days and said as long as she has the free version for the moment, she's not feeling at risk or rushed about it. Thank you so much for your information. And if we run into problems, we will do all of the above before we post about it. Thanks again!
