I'm using IE8 on Vista Home.
Despite ticking the "keep me logged in" box, I have to enter my user name and password every time on most sites, eg ebay and forums. The only advice I can find is to uncheck "Preserve favorites website data" but that doesn't seem to make a difference.
Any ideas please?

Hi -
Please open Internet Explorer > Click on Tools > Internet Options > and open the Tab marked Content -
In the middle is Auto Complete > Settings > Tick All boxes > Click OK > (Apply ) OK , and your settings should stay once you enter them.
You will get a box from IE "Do you want to save ....." each time you log in to a new site, so click Yes or No to suit -

This may not work on all sites, but it should work on the ones you visit fairly often -

Hope this helps -

I don't have or use IE 8 but I found this method also: IE8 Is Deleting Cookies When Closing Browsers
