I am looking at this motherboard http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157271
When I noticed a few terms I don't understand.

The supported Memory is: DDR3 2133(OC) / 1600 / 1333 / 1066 / 800

What does the "(OC)" after 2133 mean?

Next question is about the PCIe slots. It says: 2 x PCI Express 3.0 x16 slots (PCIE2/PCIE4: single at x16 (PCIE2) / x8 (PCIE4), or dual at x8 (PCIE2) / x8 (PCIE4)) (PCI Express 3.0 with Intel Ivy Bridge CPU, PCI Express 2.0 with Intel Sandy Bridge CPU)

I understand the part about needing the Intel Ivy Bridge to make it go from a 2.0 to 3.0, but what I'm wondering is, are all motherboards like this; where you need Intel Gen3 or AM3+ CPU's like Bulldozer to make PCIe 3.0 actually function at 3.0, or is this just a unique situation for this board?

And the other question I have about the PCIe slots is that stuff about "PCIE2/PCIE4". I get how it goes from x16 to x8 depending on whether you use one card or crossfire it with two cards, but what is the PCIE4?

The 2133(OC) means this freq is not natively supported but can be Overclocked to this level.

Not sure how to explain it to you but the CPU has to natively support PCI-E 3.0 in order to reach those speeds.
