I recently checked my daughterís computer to make sure everything is alright; unfortunately the computer was infected, very badly.
So I started to fix her computer using: Spybot Search & destroy, Malware bytes anti Malware, Avast free antivirus, trend micro house call, tdsskiller, and last panda active scan. After all the cleaning methods I saved panda for last and found a virus in system32/regw2.exe. Iím not sure if itís a virus or not so I created a new folder on my desktop and cut and pasted it there, so far windows has not complained about it.
Ok so my daughterís computer looks nice and clean, but Iím not sure if some damage has occurred when I cleaned the computer or if it still has a virus. I tried to update the computer but after restarting it several times, it continues to repeat the same three updates:
1. Security Update for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB2676562)
2. Security Update for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB2709715)
3. Update for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB2679255)
I tried to use sfc /scannow but it will not let me do it with or without administrator privilege, so I tried the offline method, this time it worked, but didnít find anything. So Iím stuck and I have tried everything I could think of to fix that computer, I feel I have spent too much time trying to fix it on my own and thatís why I turn to you. If you can help me I appreciate any advice anyone can give.
