Ok, here is the problem.

My laptop has this weird issue where the bottom half of the display simply will not update. The only way I can update the image is to physically pull one corner of the laptop display towards me while pushing the other half away, almost like a slight bending motion. If I hold it like that it will work normally. The moment I let go, it's back to scrabbled and will eventually go to black. When it first happened, a simple tap on the screen would fix it.

Has anyone had this issue before? If so, were you able to fix it or rig it so that it didn't do this type of stuff?

Attached is an image of what it looks like scrabbled.

Have you tried safemode to check on the difference? This will determine if its a hardware or software problem. Any changes before the issue?

Tried Safe Mode and no change(see attachment). I haven't made any changes to the laptop hardware wise.

Well, how about on the software part? If you have a spare VGA monitor which your laptop would most support, can you try using it externally in normal mode? Have you tried changing any wallpaper also?

I've actually been using it as a "headless" laptop with a desktop monitor since it got this bad, so it is working ok there.

I had this issue before the only way to get it fix is by a warranty service but you can attach a external monitor.

Its definitive a component issue

Hi,
There are three things that could cause the problem.

Bad Screen
Bad or loose at either end cable from motherboard to screen

I'm going to guess screen as it is the most likely from the image. If it is a HP or Dell or Lenovo you can download the service manual from their website.

I'm guessing Dell as the little green 9inside what looks like a padlock in the image looks like it is from a Dell.
