My pc has flipped. I can't copy/paste (I now get the scrolling arrows in it's place); even when the cursor is in positioned correctly, I have to press the keys a few dozen times before the letters appear, windows won't update anymore. I restored to before the last windows update, but that didn't help. If it helps. my bot's a Dell & the mouse/keys are wireless (all batteries replaced). Thx.

I'm somewhat confused...your title says that you cannot...while the post content seems to indicate that you can, with difficulty.

Have you tried running the chkdsk /r command?

Have you tried uninstalling...then reinstalling...the mouse drivers?

Hi Louis, the copy/paste still inactive regardless, no updates from ms, now the opening & closing of windows/tabs with ie has a mind of its own too, typing is hit/miss & the chkdisc??? Can we try that one in simple terms please? Thx.

See http://www.w7forums.com/use-chkdsk-check-disk-t448.html .

If using the graphical interface method...put check marks in both options, "Scan for" and "Automatically fix". This results in the equivalent of running chkdsk /r from the command prompt.

If using the command prompt method...type chkdsk /r, rather than just chkdsk. Note that there is a space between the k and /.

I ran it as you said, and could copy/paste my own docs, but impossible to have connetion to the net, so system restore allows me the net to update you, but also gave me back the other problems.

You ran the chkdsk /r command again...after doing the system restore?

Please download MiniToolBox, save it to your desktop and run it.

Yes, ran the checkdisk again, this time internet connection remained intact but no improvements re: the other problems. I can select all to copy/paste, luckily, but still not for smaller amounts of text.

Download the windows all in one repair tool
http://www.tweaking.com/content/page/windows_repair_all_in_one.html

Run it with all boxes checked.Just allow it to create a restore point prior to running. Then reboot.

Then download then update and do quick scans with Malwarebytes and super antispyware remove anything they find and reboot your machine I am not asking you to post the logs here these are just good to keep and run on your machine once a week.
