I am have problems since having a virus on a friends computer as I now cannot get the firewall up and running again.

I had initially raised the issue in the below thread when I got the virus but unfortunately the kind guy helping me couldn’t work out the firewall problem and directed me here.

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic457505.html

I was hoping someone could have a look and advise me how to fix it.

OMG thank you so much this has fixed the problem straight away.

The only other thing I have noticed is Windows Defender isnt running it says

'The specified service does not exist as an installed service. (Error Code: 0x80070424)'

Is there a way I can fix this too?

Actually ignore that i think i have fixed it by copying the healthy windefend reg from my computer onto the previously infected computer and it is now running.

Thank you so much for your help you have been fantastic.
