(Thanks Elise)After finally getting my computer cleaned of viruses (Thanks Elise) I was checking that my Firewall was turned on. When I clicked on it, it said "Windows Firewall is not using the recomended settings". I clicked on the "update settings now" button and got a popup message that said "Windows Firewall was unable to make the requested updates".

Then I tried to open the Microsoft Security Center and it said "The security center is turned off". I clicked "Turn on now" and got a pop up "The security Center can't be started".
I have been using Microsoft Security Essentials and Windows Firewall. They both usually show up in the security center. MSE is working.

I am running Windows Vista 32

No. That seems to have taken care of it. My security center and firewall work again. Was this a result of the infection?

This means that the security credentials the server presented could have been forged and the server may not be the server you expected (you may be communicating with an attacker).
You cannot proceed because the website operator has requested heightened security for this domain."
