I've started having this new odd problem with my computer lately.
When I reboot my computer or turn it off completely, my video card drivers uninstall automatically. This is weird. I reinstalled my Nvidia drivers each time I've restarted the computer, yet every time on restart: drivers get deleted.

I first noticed this issue when I rebooted and then my Aero theme became disabled. I thought "oh well" and tried to play Just Cause 2. Error! Some error about not having DX11 compliance.... I reinstall my drivers (using Clean Install) and then everything goes back to normal until I restart/reboot/power off-on.

Any suggestions?
Thanks everyone!

Hi there!

Have you attempted to use Driver Sweeper to completely remove all traces of Nvidia and reinstall?

Driver Sweeper: http://phyxion.net/item/driver-sweeper.html

If not, try this.

A)Download and make sure DriverSweeper is installed and working
B)Turn the PC off and reboot into Safemode w/ networking
C)Run DriverSweeper and clear all Nvidia drivers
D)Reboot back into Normal Mode
E)Reinstall Drivers from Nvidia site

Post what happened! :-)

So far, your suggestion appears to have yielded positive results. After using Driver Sweeper and rebooting, I installed the latest drivers. The install of drivers required a reboot: after that, the drivers loaded properly. I'll post back if there is any additional loss of functionality.
Thanks,
Matt

Good morning. Last night my computer auto-restarted for windows updates sometime while I was asleep. I woke up to find the computer missing NVIDIA drivers again. This is bizarre. Any more suggestions to what could be causing this?

I'm on Windows 7 Home Premium, Service Pack 1 64-bit
Intel Core i5-2500K @3.3GHz / 4GHz
8GB RAM

Using Nvidia driver 301.42 (the most recent I've been able to download online).
I cannot remember anything that I've installed recently (as in just before I noticed the problem).

Try installing again, if that doesn't work - get me on skype. Send me a PM and I'll send you my username.

Bump. I've had no luck. I'm tired of leaving my computer on (even if it's in sleep mode) all the time when I'm not using it to avoid having to reinstall drivers. Any other clues?
Thanks folks

The obvious thing to consider, IMO...is that your hardware is faulty and may need replacement.

Please download MiniToolBox , save it to your desktop and run it.

Checkmark the following checkboxes:
List last 10 Event Viewer log
List Installed Programs
List Users, Partitions and Memory size.

Click Go and paste the content into your next post.

Also...please Publish a Snapshot using Speccy - http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic323892.html/page__p__1797792#entry1797792 .

Thank you very much for the post, hamluis. I've uploaded a video to youtube that I was able to capture using FRAPS.
Video corruption video
Does this video look like failed video card memory (vram)? Or, does the spiking, color shifting and other artifacts indicate something more sinister? This video corruption just started happening yesterday. Games were working fine before that.
I attached the RESULTS.txt from minitoolbox.
Thanks again.

<<1 Drive c: (HP_Pavilion) (Fixed) (Total:465.76 GB) (Free:2.19 GB) NTFS>>

You have insufficient free space on the Windows partition...for Windows to behave properly. Approximately 15% of the partition needs to be free space...you have less than 1% free space.

You need to move some data files to either another drive or other storage devices.
