Is that the TV commercial with the good looking young lady complaining about a slow PC and wanting to buy a new one?
And the older gentleman uses that magic One button fix button?
if so No.

Since the only ways I know of to stay virus free is
1. never turn on the computer.
2. Never ever use the Internet.

I will say that isn't possible.

The safest pc is the one still in the box. If you never want to worry about a virus then stick to pen and paper. They are lying if they say you never have to worry about a virus. No product can even claim that and even saying 99.99% detection is really pushing it. The fact is that malware is released by thousands a day so no it is not possible to find every single malware out there. The antvirus vs malware war has long been lost. Not even 50% of all malware released daily is even detected(30% might even be pushing it) and unknown to others except their creators.

No single product is 100% foolproof and can claim to prevent, detect and remove all threats at any given time. That includes the well known major anti-virus players. Since we know this is the case, no one should believe any advertisement they see which indicates otherwise.
