Hello there everybody, I have a problem with freezing and crashing while running larger applications. My laptop runs perfectly fine while I am surfing the internet or iming, or anything of that type. When I'm gaming, on the other hand, my laptop will randomly freeze up and reset itself. It happens at the most random times without any kind of forewarning or sign that it's going to happen. Whatever I'm doing will be running at top notch speed, then suddenly it will freeze and reset. There is no blue screen error or anything of the sort, it's just a random crash.
Now, I did run a few virus, maleware, and registry scans that cleared up a couple viruses. That seemed to help the problem somewhat, making the random crashes less frequent, yet I am still having the same troubles.
I do have gmer and aswmbr logs, but I understand I am not supposed to be posting logs here so I will refrain from doing so.

Any kind of help would be greatly appreciated, please and thank you.

Hello!~

How much ram do you have installed on your computer?
You might be using all your RAM and that is why the computer crashes.

Check Ram in System Properties here's how to do it for WV: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-vista/Find-out-how-much-RAM-your-computer-has

Yea let us know how much RAM is on board. In addition if you go to Task Manager ( CTRL + ALT + Delete )
you can see how much memory and processor your using. Compare that to what you have available.

Specs of Computer Please:

Hi -
Just a quick observation from Speccy shows this ->>
Hard Drives
TOSHIBA RAID LD0 SCSI Disk Device
Size: 93GB Used Space: 81GB (88%)
Free Space: 12.1GB (12%)
Note that this is your Hard Drive and not your RAM -
From this do you think that you are overloaded with a bit more than this unit can handle ??

Now try to Defrag your computer and please tell me if it succeeded - (Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Defrag) -

NEXT: Please download MiniToolBox, save it to your desktop and run it.

Checkmark the following checkboxes:

•Flush DNS
•Report IE Proxy Settings
•Reset IE Proxy Settings
•Report FF Proxy Settings
•Reset FF Proxy Settings
•List content of Hosts
•List IP configuration
•List last 10 Event Viewer log
•List Installed Programs
•List Users, Partitions and Memory size.
•List Minidump Files

Click Go and post the result (Result.txt). A copy of Result.txt will be saved in the same directory the tool is run.

Note: When using "Reset FF Proxy Settings" option Firefox should be closed.

Thank You -

Okay, while the disk defragmenter ran fine for the most part, at the end it told me "some flles could not be defragmented" I have a log of that as well, if neccesary.
And here is the minitoolbox log:

That appears to me to indicate that you may have installed illegal versions of Adobe software. Any install of illegal software...carries (IMO) a high risk of malware infection, since the receiver of torrent files...does not know if they have been altered.

The system is not overheating, CPU temp max is 100 Celsius.

The reference to a RAID driver, TOSHIBA RAID LD0 SCSI Disk Device (SCSI), is (probably) the Toshiba driver necessary for SATA hard drives...since there is no one drive RAID.

So...in spite of your responding to the various requests of other members...I can't tell you definitely what might be wrong with your system. I can only point out the obvious.

Louis

That system only has 2GB of RAM and may become stressed when you run various apps...what you call "larger applications"...because the resources just don't exist.
