Hi -
Please follow these directions and post them back here -

Publish a Snapshot using Speccy - http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic323892.html/page__p__1797792#entry1797792

Download/install BlueScreenView, http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/blue_screen_view.html .

Double-click BlueScreenView.exe file.

When autoscan is done (screen comes up), click Edit/Select All...then File/Save Selected Items.

Save the report as BSOD.txt.

Open BSOD.txt, copy all content and paste it into your next reply.

Thank You -

Nothing comes up for the BlueScreenView, do i need to run Dota 2 and let the BSOD happen?

Thanks.

Hi -
The records of your Blue Screens should be listed with this program ??
Try this -
Please download BlueScreenView (in zip file) and Save to desktop
  • Extract (right-click > Extract all) the contents of bluescreenview.zip.
  • Double-click on the BlueScreenView.exe file, to run the program. (No installation is required.)
  • When scanning is done (usually complete by the time the interface appears), go ...
  • Edit > Select All
  • File > Save Selected Items, and save the report to your Desktop as BSOD.txt.
  • Close the BlueScreenView window... ... ...
  • Open BSOD.txt using Notepad and go ... .... ..
  • Edit > Select All
  • Edit > Copy, and then paste the entire contents of the text file into your next reply.

I would uninstall the offending game...and then reinstall it. It may have damaged files.

Let's have a quick look and see if we can figure out why there are no crash dumps being saved or recorded in the event logs.

To check your system's "Recoveros" (Recovery) and Page File settings via Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI), please download and then run the following:

FWIW: OP is running Ccleaner, which may be removing the .dmp files.

... I have been running Ccleaner recently, I think that is the problem.

Do not run CCleaner ... OR ... change the default setting in CCleaner so that it no longer empties the Minidump folder .... and let's see what happens.
  • The settings look OK for creating and saving minidumps.

Let's change this setting:

AutoReboot=TRUE

Please disable "automatic restart on system failure".
  • When the system crashes to a BSOD, you will be able to record the details and post them whether a minidump is saved or not.
"Automatic restart" can be disabled from within Windows:

When the system fails it will not re-start: Instead, you will see a BSOD (blue screen of death) with error message, such as the example shown below.

  • Posted Image
  • Record the error message details (contained in the areas outlined in red, in the above example image), and post in a reply.

Please post the error details in your next reply, when it happens.
You may need to press and hold for 5 seconds, the ON/OFF button, to switch off your computer when the BSOD error message is displayed.
