Hello folks. I couldn't find the page to introduce myself. Sorry. I am not computer wizz. Infact I am computer illiterate.
I have a problem,Java sent a new download last week and it won't let my sound card operate while on line. Youtube, Hulu and so forth. I use FireFox Mozilla as my web browser and tried Internet Explorer to see if the problem was there. It didn't work there either. I did correct three times with Backup and Restore, but this no longer works.I have a Creative Sound Labs sound card. It is the Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio card Model #SB0790. It is in a Dell Insperon 530 with a Quad Core Processor, 2.3GHz per core. 6 Gig of Ram and 700 gig hard drive. I have looked for updates and plugins but found nothing. I may not be looking in the proper places though as I am ignorant and in desperate need of help. I thank you for your time and help in advance and if more information is needed just let me know.

Hi :).

Let's try to uninstall the current audio drivers and then reinstall same.

First...download the driver and save it to your desktop.

http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/19/DriverDetails/DriverFileFormats?DriverId=GF5P1&FileId=2731102738&productCode=inspiron-530&urlProductCode=False

Then...go Start/Run...type devmgmt.msc and hit Enter. Scroll down to Sound, Video and Game Controllers...double-click it to see detail.

Double-click Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio...click Driver tab...click Uninstall button. Reboot.

Once the system reboots, the driver may reinstall automatically. If not, then just double-click the file you downloaded and it should install automatically.

Just a question again because I am not knowledgeable. If I have the disk that came with the sound card. Can it be used or do I need to download the upgraded version?

Still not working. Could I be missing a plugin for the web browser?

I have tried every thing you guys have suggested and the results are still the same. I think maybe I am missing something simple but don't no where to look.

Hi,

Something simple but not so obvious, checkout the speaker icon in the taskbar by the time and make sure that "mute" is not checked.

Here is a link regarding "no sound" after Adobe Flash Player 11.3 update. Maybe one of the responses will help you.

Good luck.

I downloaded the previous version of Adobe Flashplayer and got my sound back. Now I can't see about half the stuff on Youtube and other sites. I just can't win. I do understand that it is a program glitch but you'd think they would fix it.
