Hey guys...Need assistance please. We have this message popping up and will not go away or stop even when orginal XP Pro CD is inserted, it is rejected. "Files that are required for Windows to run properly have been replaced by unrecognized versions. To maintain system stability, Windows must restore the original versions of these files. Insert your product CD-ROM now." Tried to run SFC /scannow from someones instructions...would not run. HELP?!!!
I am running WIndows XP Professional with Service Pack 3 installed.

System manufacturer and model?

When disk is inserted and sfc scannow asks for CD...that message normally meass...user is trying to run sfc /scannow without appropriate MS Genuine CD. Reocvey/restore disks are not construed to be equal to MS Genuien CD for that O/S.

If you received the error message and was not trying to run sfc /scannow...then we would need to know the exact filename mentioned in the popup.

Origin of the disk used/inserted?
