Hello, I am the proud owner of an Asus g74Sx laptop. Recently, I have lost sound in specific applications, and lost the ability to record through the line in.

The only sound I have is in Java and Flash applications, the Elder Scrolls 5 Skyrim, the km player when using a specific play mode, and system sounds. All other applications have no sound.

If I try to record with the line in, I get a repeating signal, sort of like a heartbeat monitor picture on my recording program. The webcam microphone works.

I tried uninstalling then reinstalling the sound drivers, to no avail.
I can supply any more information you need.
Thankyou in advance.
