Do you have all Vista SPs and critical updates installed?

Don't know this is a laptop I bought cause mine crashed. If I could get a hold of a fresh Install disk, I would do a re install of vista. Can anyone send me a copy of vista, without all that programs MS bloat you with.

Hi,

If the computer is an OEM (HP, Dell, eMachine, etc.), you may be able to restore to factory default by using the hidden recovery partition on the hard drive.

What is the computer make and exact model number?

Regards,
Brooks

As long as the recovery partition hasn't been damaged, this should work for you.

Here is your computer manual: http://support.gateway.com/s/Manuals/Mobile/8512488.pdf.
  • Download and open the manual (PDF format).
  • Arrow down to page 89 - Recovering your system to factory condition.
  • Start at step 2 and proceed through step 10.

Good luck.

Regards,
Brooks
