I have a Dell Inspiron 1525 with Windows vista and when I hook up my HP 2338h through HDMI cable the moniter clicks off and on like it's not being recognized. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

One possibility that comes to mind is that you are not sending the monitor video that it can handle.

Read the manual for the monitor it should give supported resolutions and refresh rates and make sure that you set the HDMI video out to what the monitor can handle.

Another possibility would be that the monitor is defective. Does the monitor work elsewhere?

It's actually worked a few times before then it just stopped working. Yes the monitor works else where.

Did you try the VGA port also to check on the difference?
