I am having severe problems with my computer, I'm running Vista. I was having an issue where it wouldn't boot at all, and the safemode would hang at avgidseh.sys, I downloaded their rescue CD and deleted all the AVG files, after this my computer booted properly exactly once. I used this opportunity to fully delete AVG from my system, then when I tried to open a Word document the computer crashed with the blue screen. Now, upon startup, my computer tries to run a disk check every time, will complete the check successfully (deleting a couple index entries and recovering a couple orpahned files during stage 2, then boot to my "login" screen, where I have an administrator account and a guest account. If I try and load my guest account it starts up immediately but informs me quickset has stopped working (which i dont think is a big deal), then subsequently lags, freezes (but only whatever I'm trying to open, my mouse is still operable), and restarts if I try to open anything. If i try and open my administrator account it freezes on the black screen right before opening my desktop, sometimes I can move the mouse, sometimes I can't. It stays like this indefinitely, longest recorded time to date is about 3.5 hours. If I try and boot into safemode it now hangs on crcdisk.sys. Help Please?

Well...you may have hard drive problems...you have file system problems, as evidenced by the 3-step chkdsk running at boot.

I suggest that you boot into any mode that allows you to run the chkdsk /r command.

If that cannot be done...then I propose that you run the Dell Hardware Diagnostics package on your system.

Dell Diagnostics - http://support.dell.com/support/topics/global.aspx/support/dsn/en/document?c=us&dl=false&l=en&s=gen&docid=A9E3A15597A04AFBB02EE16785D39C5C&doclang=en&cs=

Actually...the diagnostics should be run whether you can run chkdsk /r or not.
