Hi,

As per request here, I am posting logs from preparation guide.

I have been asked to provide a brief description of problem:

When I shut down my computer, it either won't start up again (loads to windows starting screen and gets stuck there).... or freezes (usually on microsoft outlook). After following various scans suggested in my previous post, my computer is sort of stable until I shut down so I am not shutting it down at all. The original problem is as follows:

A few weeks back I had a security warning pop up from windows action centre (win7 64bit) and I followed instructions that caused me computer to crash ie, when it restarted all my programs were gone, files were gone and even wireless was gone (it's a laptop and I use wireless to connect to the net). I tried to do a system repair from windows and managed to get wireless back and some functionality, but all my programs and files were gone. At reboot, I have 2 operating systems.... windows and windows recovered. On windows recovered it is as if I have just bought the computer and all it has is windows. On windows, I have managed to transferr (by finding them manually) some of my files and programs with a program called EAseus data recovery wizard trial which allowed me to recover 1gb for free. There are still 100's of files and programs missing... eg, I can't access microsoft security essentials except for in safe mode as the link does not work. Out of desperation I have run unhide (which found some missing links), rkill and malawarebytes after reading various websites suggestions. It helps immediately after, especially rkill. Before I run it I can't access microsoft outlook 2010. After running it, it works.....but I have to redo it fter every boot. Malawarebytes full scan does not find anything. I am also running AVG which found 14 rootkits but only removed one as the others were locked or hidden (which is why I ran unhide, but that didn't help and it took 18hours to complete).

I also have most of the links in my start menu missing ie I can see thelinks, but the don't work.

In my c directory I have the following folders for windows: Win7, windows, windows.old, windows.old.000

I have done step 6 and 7 so far. Here are the logs for step 7:

ATTACH log is attached

I can't get GMER to run. When I follow the steps it downloads fine, extracts fine, but whe I double click to open, it automatically starts scanning and I am unable to change any settings except for: services, registry and files as all the other options are greyed out. After a few seconds it stops scanning and it has no log (it is empty when I save and open)If I stop it from scanning, I am still unable to change settings and when I started a new scan it ran for 17 hours and still wasn't done. I am currently still having it run to see if it will ever finish.

Thank-you in advance for your help!

Can you post an aswMBR log

Please download aswMBR ( 511KB ) to your desktop.
  • Double click the aswMBR.exe icon to run it
  • Click the Scan button to start the scan
  • On completion of the scan, click the save log button, save it to your desktop and post it in your next reply.

Hi,

I have not had a reply from you for 3 days. Can you please tell me if you still need help with your computer as I am unable to help other members with their problems while I have your topic still open. The time taken between posts can also change the situation with your PC making it more difficult to help you.

If you like you can PM me.

Thanks,

m0le
