Hi everyone;

I am on my boyfriends computer (a pc) and it's got some problems with browser hijacking and he's got NO virus protection. I have fixed the latter part, and have installed Hijackthis to fix other problems. I came here with the intention of posting my log, However Hijack this is unable to find the log file, and asks if I would like to to create a new one, I click YES and then it opens a blank text file. When I search for the log after, it tells me "windows is searching for the hijackthis.log. to find the file yourself click Browse." It's not showing up in the Trend Micro/Hijackthis file either. So being resourceful, I have screencaptured the scan.

Any help would be provided

Just a suggestion...rather than submit the HJT log data (HJT is outdated and not used today by the Malware Response Team here at BC), please execute Steps 6-10 at Preparation Guide, Before Using Malware Removal Tools and Requesting Help - http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic34773.html and then post the requested logs (along with pertinent narrative) as a new topic within the forum where the Prep Guide is posted.

Since malware logs are not used in this forum (Vista issues) , i will remove the attachment you posted here.

After you have initiated your new topic in the appropriate malware forum, I will close this topic.
