I have a mini netbook(not Mac) that runs on DOS and would like to install either Windows XP or Windows 7. The specs for the netbook are 1GB system memory and 8GB of hard disk space. This netbook does not have an internal dvd/cd rom drive but at least two USB ports and one ethernet port.

Prefer to perform the Windows OS install through an external optical drive but need help on making this install successful if possible through this intent.

DOS hasn't been used as an operating system for maybe 15 years, so I am not sure what you are talking about exactly. What is the make and model of your netbook?
