I have Google Chrome, Firefox and the latest Internet Browser.
I usually use only Google Chrome.

Irrespective of which browser I use when I open I am faced with the page "MyStart"
which I never downloaded. I scanned the computer using
Microsoft Security which is always running in the background. But no threat was

I tried to uninstall this but it does not show up in the list.

I searched the web for a solution and find that this is a problem
many are encountering and one of the forums directed me to you.

Is MyStart a real threat and how can I remove it.

I am 76 and not very computer savy. Can anyone walk me through the process.

MyStart toolbar is a browser extension that claims to increase the functionality and management of social network sites (i.e. Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, You Tube, MySpace, etc.).
Many toolbars, Add-ons, screensavers, and weather monitoring programs come bundled with other software and can be the source of various issues and problems to include Adware. They usually can be removed via Add/Remove Programs or Programs and Features in Vista/Windows 7, so always check there first.

If nothing is listed in Add/Remove or Programs and Features, check Internet Explorer's Manage Add-ons where they can be disabled:
If using Firefox or Google Chrome, please refer to:
Note: With Firefox, you may also need to open About:config and edit or reset to the default any MyStart entries via the right-click context menu.

Repeat the above steps for any other toolbars/extensions you do not want or don't recognize.
