I was given a very old Acer Aspire5000 series. It was purchased in 2005. The computer was cleaned out but is still running extremely slow. It had 2 256mb ram memory. I wanted to upgrade and I know that the max upgrade is 2 gb, but all I wanted to do is upgrade to 1gb. So I wanted to find 2 512mb ram memory sticks I bought some from amazon but they didnít fit. So I was wondering how to know what will fit and if I can use other brands of memory.

Here is all the info on the ram memory that came with the computer: Nanya nt256d64sh8c0gm-6k 512MB DDR 333MHz CL2.5 PC2700S-25331

I just have no idea what I should buy.
