Hello,

I recently received help here and had a rootkit removed. I recently restarted my computer and when my login screen appeared, the resolution was very low and I have not been able to change it higher than 640x480. The only thing I can think that caused it was after removing the rootkit, I had performed updates at filehippo. I can not remember what exactly I updated and if any of included drivers or programs that would affect resolution.

Go Start/Run...type devmgmt.msc and hit Enter.

Double-click on Display Adapters...right-click on detail now revealed...click Uninstall.

Reboot, reinstall the video drivers, available at the website of the system manufacturer (if OEM system) or the video card manufacturer (if physical card is used).

Any system from Dell, Lenovo, eMachines, etc...are OEM systems, as is any laptop.

Current installed drivers may be damaged and need replacement.
