Usb Port

hi ppl'

my computer a compaq7500 wont use the usb port...no printer or camera will work. i was wondering if the usb port could go bad ...not work..and if this could be fixed or i would have to buy a usb port??can u buy this thing??

It could be that the USB port is bad.... But it also may be the motherboard. There is really no way to tell which it is.

You can't necessarily buy USB ports, but you can by a motherboard Here or Here.

Stay posted here for a little bit though, because someone else may have a few suggestions about the problem as well.

I happened to find some PCI USB cards. Does your USB bus appear in the device manager? Is there a ? or! next to it?

yes my device manager has several different bus...

all look fine. no problem there.huh.

I would start by going to the website of your motherboard and see if there are any patches, or firmware updates.

my usb port in the rear of the computer is working.. but my printer did so0mething strange it printed 3 pages 3rd page first 2 page 2nd and 1st last...ill keep working on it still it gets right

Go to the Printer Properties. It is set in desending order.

That's not a glitch - that's a feature. Now you don't have to resort the pages. If you get really good at playing with the software, you can probably figure out how to make it print on both sides of the page as well. I do that to save paper. (It's an HP printer - go to "properties" and check print on both sides.)
