My real name is Alan.... but you can call me caet (to be pronoaunced "seat")

I am a mech engineer, 47 so I am old, and newly unemployed. My brother and several friends are programmers but I have been doing machine design instead. I have always tried to learn what I can on the computer tech side, but the IT guys at work seldom have the time for explanations.

Planning to retire to a second career as my wifes IT support and office manager: she's an MD and if she ever goes back to work we can stop living in poverty.

I like cycling and volley ball for hobbies, that and chasing our five kids around (15-2 years old)

reading the background now before I post my woes....

Thanks in advanced for the fun... maybe i'll learn something.

Alan

Hello and :welcome: to Bleeping Computer.

Be sure to check out the New User Orientation and the excellent Tutorials.
The power of accurate observation is commonly called cynicism by those who haven't got it.
