Whenever I turn on or restart my computer, my printer always restarts itself, as if I had just turned on the printer as well, but I always leave it on. I tried unplugging it from the computer and the outlet to see if that would do anything, since that usually fixes any problems I have with it, but it didn't do anything. It doesn't affect the performance of the printer or anything, it's just sort of annoying.

What is happening is that the printer is reacting to windows checking the USB port to see what if anything is plugged in. This happens on any start /restart of windows.

Why leave the printer on? No power button?

Laser printers are more efficient, provide better yield to purchasers...better values all around, IMO.
