Ever since I "upgraded" to IE 8 I have been having computer issues I never had before. Don't know if they are related to that or some infection that happened to infest itself at the same time.
I am on Windows XP and have avast! and Ad-Aware Pro which is run daily.
Computer is slow at times (alot) and alot of times when I close a window it will close, then another will pop up over and over again. I will close one and another of the same will pop up, sometimes having multiple (2-3-4)windows of the same thing up. Also it will at times lock up on me and I can't do anything for awhile, then it will run smoothly all of a sudden. Ugh. Sometimes I will do a restart to get it to run right again, but it is usually hard to even get that done because it is running like crap at the time.

I see 2 things that are slowing you down and that is the following:

1) Very low RAM for windows XP and its outdated.

2) You are using Ad-Aware, so please remove it.

I would recommend adding at least another 512 megs of RAM to it.
