Just wanted to say hello so "Hello!"

I was a network systems tech for roughly 8 years. At one time I seemed to have a handle on dealing with virus's adware/spyware/malware and deployed many of the tools that are still used today. I have been out of networking and systems tech field for roughly 4 years, and I have 2 computers in the home that really took a whacking. I thought that with my background, understanding, experience, determination, skills etc.. that I would always be able to take care of things on my own. I have either seriously overestimated my abilities, or underestimated the sophistication of exploits; and probably a little bit of both. I even ran some tools that clearly stated "Don't Run unless asked to do so by trained ..."; of course that warning wasn't meant for someone of my caliber ;). Well I have been served. So I come here humbled. I'll start wit my computer in the appropriate forum, and procedure. Just wanted to say hello and give a brief introduction. Thanks!

The power of accurate observation is commonly called cynicism by those who haven't got it.
