Did you buy a MBAM license? That is what you need for active protection. There is a 14-day trial, maybe you activated it and it has expired.

If you purchased a license or are still within the 14 day trial period, you need to enable the Protection Module.

To enable Malwarebytes Protection Module, launch the program and do the following:
  • Click the Protection Tab.
  • Check the box Enable protection module.
Ensure the following are also checked:
  • Start protection module with Windows. <- keeps protection after shutting down Windows or rebooting
  • Start file execution blocking when protection module starts
  • Start Malicious website blocking when protection module starts.
  • Show tooltip balloon when malicious website is blocked.
Click Exit to close the MBAM window when done.
