So I just graduated highschool, and I'm probably going to need a laptop for college. I know I will probably need an instense laptop to carry all my programs and different files for coding and what not when I'm going through my engineering courses. Although, I will be going to a 2 year college first to get rid of my general ed. Even though I won't have engineering classes, I was thing I may do some side coding to get into it before I transfer over to a 4 year college to start my engineering major. Any suggestions? Low-end laptop? High-end laptop? Somewhere inbetween?

I would say go with a balanced laptop, as it will get the job done and will not burn a whole in your wallet. I recommend the following brands: Acer, Toshiba, Dell, Lenovo, and Asus. It's your choice, be sure to read the reviews before you buy (always helpful).

I don't have a set budget, but obviously being a college freshman, I won't be rich. I have no idea what programs I'll be using in my college courses, but I'll probably use a coding and compiler kit program (sorry I forget what you call them) that I used last summer when I started learning C++ (i forget the name of the program)
