I have an email with an attachment that was sent to me in .swf (shock wave flash) format. When I click to open it, it does not automatically start playing, I have to download and choose IE or wmv player to be able to open it. I have tried free file converters but none work. I have to send this email to about 30 other people I work with and I wish they could just click the attachment in the email and it pull up without them having to choose the program to open it with. All employees including me use Windows XP SP3, and IE 8. I have tried opening in different browsers and on a windows 7 machine. Adobe flash player is installed on all the PCs, so I dont know what else can be done.

Can someone explain to me .swf and what a resolution might be?

each employee would need the Shockwave plugin for their web browser in order to read them. if I'm not mistaken, I think Google Chrome plays them right out of the box.
