I received the Intel 520 SSD today and installed it. Here are the CrystalDiscMark figures comparing the 510 to the 520, same laptop, same programs and configuration, both 120GB.
If anyone can shed some light on what their take is on these numbers I would be interested. Thanks.
Edit: Forgot to mention that it is a HP DV6-6170us i7 4 core. It is so much faster with either of the SSD's than with the std HDD it amazes me.

Thanks for that info.....I wonder why my sequential and 512K write speeds are down from what the 510's are? That puzzles me.
I notice that this laptop has a SATA lll chipset according to the Intel paperwork.
Overall, the machine seems to be a little quicker than with the 510 and I didn't think I would be able to notice.

Forgot to mention that on both drives the numbers read a little higher with superfetch/prefetch on as opposed to off and I wonder why ? I turn it off as directed for normal operation.
