Good Morning All,
I am an IT Manager/Administrator for an Oil and Gas Consulting firm. I manage about 400 users, all networked gear including servers, switches, routers, client machines, mobile devices, printers, faxes and scanners.
We are a wholly Dell/Microsoft shop.
I worked at Dell for many years and left there as a Senior Training Advisor. Pryor to that I worked in various IT capacities. I have MCSE, MCITP, CCNA, A+, Security + and Net+. I have over 20 years experience in IT. My first PC was a Commodore Vic20 (i got a tape drive for Christmas and thought I was in heaven.) I can build, disassemble and reassemble most IT equipment.
All that being said I am still learning everyday and enjoy a good challenge. Client machines still are the most interesting part of the work and I think that has more to do with the dynamism of the end user and the applications they use and need to use.
I have one motto when it comes to computers "That's why their kind will never rule the planet." I simply have a "they will not win attitude when in comes to computers.
Thank you for hosting this forum and I look forward to finding some good tidbits here.
