Ladies and Gentlemen,

I recently began using the Microsoft SkyDrive for "cloud" storage of files, photos and videos. So far, so good, cheap (free) and easily accessible from any internet connected computer.

I was wondering though, can I use this for backup of my data? Preferably automatically??

For instance, is there a way to upload an entire backup of all of my important files? Short of uploading each one individually? Better yet, is there a way to make this upload/backup automatic? Say at a set time each day/week/month?

None of my files are world-threatening critical, but I'd sure like to keep them and know that they are safe, come whatever may.

SkyDrive only gives you a max 7GB which isn't much.

You might be better off with this one which gives you 50GB storage free: http://www.adrive.com/personal_basic

I don't know about automating backups though: you'd have to read the terms of the agreement.

Don't know if the offer is still good. But I was successful in gaining a free upgrade to 25GB following the instructions of this lifehacker article. Upgrade from 7GB to 25GB of Free Microsoft SkyDrive Storage While You Can Article dated Apr 25, 2012
