I was just using my Windows Vista 64bit SP1 laptop, when all everything froze and a the whole screen was taken up by a message telling my owed 50 and needed to pay it in order to regain access to my computer.

I've tried restarting it, pressing alt+tab, ctrl+alt+del, and restarting in safe mode, all to no avail.

Apologies if this has already been answered, I have searched and found no answers.

Please help!

Many thanks,

Hello, this is a Ransomware infection,. DO NOT run any registry or Temp file cleaners..

we nee to move you to another forum.. If you cannot do these ,then just start the new topic as explained and repost what you have here. Tell them you cannot follow the guide.

Please go here....Preparation Guide ,do steps 6-9.

Create a DDS log and post it in the new topic explained in step 9 which is here Virus, Trojan, Spyware, and Malware Removal Logs and not in this topic, thanks.
If GMER won't run skip it and move on.

Let me know if that went well.
