No matter what (as long as you follow the directions corrently): will end up with the same answer.

muhahaha :flowers:

Think of a number, any positive integer (but keep it small so you can do computations in your head). (or if you got a calculator handy, pick a large number).
1. Square it.
2. Add the result to your original number.
3. Divide by your original number.
4. Add, um.... 34.
5. Subtract your original number.
6. Divide by 7.

Your answer will be 5

Starting number = X

1. X^2

2. X^2 + X

3. (X^2 + X)/X = X + 1

4. X + 1 + 34 = X + 35

5. X + 35 - X = 35

6. 35/7 = 5

See I was hoping we'd get some people who would actually try it, before we got someone to solve it.

I tried it - I just tried it using X instead of a specific number.

And you're right, the answer is always 5!

1. Square it.
2. Add the result to your original number.
3. Divide by your original number.
4. Add, um.... 62.
5. Subtract your original number.
6. Divide by 9.

Now the answer will always be 7
