Hi Boutch,

:welcome: to BleepingComputer.

My name is M-K-D-B and I'll help you with the cleanup of your computer.

Please be aware of the following:
  • Please complete all steps in the specified order.
  • Even if tools don't find malware, I want you to post the logfiles anyway.
  • Please copy and paste the logfiles directly into your posts. Please do not attach them unless you are instructed to do so.
  • Read the instructions carefully. If you have problems, stop what you were doing and describe the problems you encountered as precisely as you can.
  • Don't install or uninstall software during the cleanup unless you are told to do so.
  • If you can't answer for the next few days, please let me know. If you haven't answered within 3 days, I am assuming that you don't need help anymore and your topic will be closed.
  • I can not guarantee that we will find and be able to remove all malware. Formatting is usually faster and always the safest way.
  • If you decide to clean your PC, work with us until a team member tells you that you are clean.
  • As my first language is not English, please do not use slang or idioms. It could be hard for me to understand.

Step 1
Reboot into Safe Mode with Networking.
This can be done tapping the F8 key as soon as you start your computer
You will be brought to a menu where you can choose to boot into safe mode.
Make sure you choose the option without networking support.
Please see here for additional details.

Step 2
Please download GMER from one of the following locations and save it to your desktop:
  • Main Mirror
This version will download a randomly named file (Recommended)
  • Zipped Mirror
This version will download a zip file you will need to extract first. If you use this mirror, please extract the zip file to your desktop.
  • Disconnect from the Internet and close all running programs.
  • Temporarily disable any real-time active protection so your security programs will not conflict with gmer's driver.
  • Double-click on the randomly named GMER file (i.e. n7gmo46c.exe) and allow the gmer.sys driver to load if asked.
  • Note: If you downloaded the zipped version, extract the file to its own folder such as C:\gmer and then double-click on gmer.exe.

    Posted Image
  • GMER will open to the Rootkit/Malware tab and perform an automatic quick scan when first run. (do not use the computer while the scan is in progress)
  • If you receive a WARNING!!! about rootkit activity and are asked to fully scan your system...click NO.
  • Now click the Scan button. If you see a rootkit warning window, click OK.
  • When the scan is finished, click the Save... button to save the scan results to your Desktop. Save the file as gmer.log.
  • Click the Copy button and paste the results into your next reply.
  • Exit GMER and be sure to re-enable your anti-virus, Firewall and any other security programs you had disabled.
-- If you encounter any problems, try running GMER in safe mode.
-- If GMER crashes or keeps resulting in a BSODs, uncheck Devices on the right side before scanning
.

Step 3
I would like you to answer the following questions as exactly as you can:
  • Did you install the sofware Wincore Mediabar purposely? I'm asking because this program will be often installed without user's knowledge with various P2P programs.
  • I assume that you can't start your computer in normal mode as the trojan blocks it. Is that correct?
  • Do you have any idea what the following file could be?
    c:\users\utilisateur\documents\fm.exe

What you should post with your next answer:
  • the logfile from GMER,
  • an answer to my questions,
  • any further information that seems to be important in your eyes.

Regards,
M-K-D-B

Hi Boutch,

Thank you very much for answering my questions and the GMER logfile. :thumbup2:
We're going to start with running ComboFix in safe mode with networking:

Step 1
Reboot into Safe Mode with Networking.
This can be done tapping the F8 key as soon as you start your computer
You will be brought to a menu where you can choose to boot into safe mode.
Make sure you choose the option without networking support.
Please see here for additional details.

Step 2
We will begin with ComboFix.exe. Please visit this webpage for download links, and instructions for running the tool:

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/combofix/how-to-use-combofix

* Ensure you have disabled all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix.

Please include the C:\ComboFix.txt in your next reply for further review.

Step 3
I would like you to answer the following questions as exactly as you can:
  • Can you start your computer in normal mode again after ComboFix has run?
  • How is your computer running at the moment?

What you should post with your next answer:
  • the logfile from ComboFix,
  • an answer to my questions.

Regards,
M-K-D-B

I'm sorry for my mistake Boutch. Of course, we need network support for being able to download and run ComboFix.
Please find the correct instructions below. Thank you for asking, I really appreciate it! :thumbup2:

Hello !

I can't give you the logfile from combofix. The program closed just after the scan and nothing else came... I just saw that all the files from the program Cacaoweb were deleted !

I just started my computer in normal mode and it's ok, the trojan seems to be DEAD :-)

Does it mean that everything is ok ?

My computer seems to run normally...
