My laptop has been turning itself off for no reason the last couple of days; no warning message or reason behind it at all.

At first I thought it was overheating and didn't think much of it, and planned to buy a cooling pad. However, it has just happenned twice and my laptop is incredibly cool and I cannot see how it was caused by overheating this time. This has led me to believe there is another reason, possibly a virus, however my scans did not pick up any.

Any help would be appreciated, thank you.

This doesn't sound like a malware related issue at all.

Some component (whether it be the processor, graphics card, etc) is overheating.

I've asked that this thread be moved to Hardware.
