Hello,

My friend opened up a document from her e-mail and when asked save file or open, she clicked open. She worked on it on windows and pressed save when done, but now it's lost. We can't find it. Is there anyway we can retreive it. Or is it unretrievable? I guess we never actually downloaded, but we did press save. It's got to mean something right? 5 o' clock is the deadline for the paper she was working on, so if you're looking at this, then you don't have to respond. If you can respond before then that'd be great. Thanks!

Thanks,

Sn17

My friend opened up a document from her e-mail and when asked save file or open

First thing that must be asked is - Did you delete the email ? ?
The item should still be in email account -
Click on it and then Save to ? ? documents or .............

hi,

the problem is that she added more to the document after she opened it from her email. She saved it to the computer after she worked on it and we're trying to see - if it saved it all- where it would be.

She saved it to the computer / She worked on it on windows and pressed save when done

In what program did she work on it ? Was there a document in the email ? ?
Do you know where it was saved ? ? Was it Documents, a specific existing file, a new file, notepad ? ?

Sorry but you leave heaps of information out of this, and how can we help with so much information missing ? ?

If...the document was saved...either before or after being edited...then a simple search using the Windows function should be able to find it.

You can search by file type, filename, whatever...if it's on the hard drive, it should appear.

If it wasn't saved...well, there's nothing to be done, IMO. The original would remain in the email, which is saved along with other email files.
