Hi, I have been wondering about cleaning my registry as I have uninstalled a couple of printers that I was unhappy with once I started using them. I have heard that Registry cleaners are not a good idea, I have also heard that unless you know what you are doing, messing around in the Registry is a baaad idea! CCleaner has been suggested as a good solution, any suggestions? I have used Microsoft’s “Mr. FixIt”, but I don’t recall it doing any thing to the registry. My Computer is a H-P Laptop model G60-243CL, running Vista Home premium. BTW, I just finished running Secunia’s PSI per a suggestion by Grinler. 100% secure report.
OK, the reason I want to clean up the registry in the first place is, I am having minor problems with the USB ports, and a friend in IT suggested that since I had done the uninstall “Unknown Device” in Device Mgr, and it still came back, it may be a problem in the registry. Thanks, TerryV
