System Info: Microsoft XP PRO ,2002 Service Pac 3
Lenovo T 60 laptop
HL-DT-ST RW/DVD GCC-4247N
I'm not sure what other system info you need . The drive will play a video DVD using inter win video player windows media needs a codec
The drive does not detect an audio cd, neither an audio book or music cd. It does not spin up when installed or registers in the my computer window on the RW/DVD icon.
I went on to the lenovo site for drivers and under the optical drive category all i get is read me files. This is a 2009 laptop out of warranty. I'm not sure if this is a driver issue or
a hardware issue. Any ideas? Stripeysocks.

I have found out that the problem with the DVD player in the laptop is a failed optical reader so i'm closing this topic.
